The Kestrel Sovereign R is the halo performance version of the Sovereign estate, taking the base car’s clean, muscular long-roof proportions and pushing them into a far more aggressive, motorsport-influenced direction.

Design Focus

Performance without losing presence

The Sovereign R was developed around the idea that a performance estate should still feel substantial, elegant and unmistakably usable. Rather than turning the car into a track-focused caricature, the R specification sharpens the original Sovereign through stance, aero, proportion and detail while preserving the long-roof silhouette and strong road presence of the base car.

Design Development

Initial Design

Establishing the Sovereign’s long-roof silhouette, wide track and low, planted stance while keeping the proportions believable as a usable performance estate.

Performance Transformation

Developing the R model from the base Sovereign with more aggressive bumpers, larger openings, revised aero surfaces and a noticeably more purposeful attitude.

Surface & Aero Development

Refining the body surfacing, wheelarch treatment, lower bodywork and airflow features so the extra aggression feels integrated rather than added on.

Identity & Detail

Locking in the lighting graphics, wheel design, trim treatment, badging and smaller functional details that separate the Sovereign R from the rest of the range.

Final Specification & Visualisation

Finalizing colour, wheels, ride height and overall specification before presenting the Sovereign R across studio, road and environmental renders.

Final Direction / Outcome

A flagship expression of the Sovereign

The finished Sovereign R establishes the most focused version of the Sovereign design language. It retains the practicality and visual weight of the original estate while introducing a more technical, performance-led character through revised aero, stance, wheels and detailing. The result - a production halo model.
