The Alfa Romeo Eléganza is a speculative flagship grand tourer exploring how Alfa Romeo’s classic sense of elegance could be translated into a contemporary luxury performance car.

Heritage Without Replication

The design draws from Alfa Romeo’s historic grand tourers and concept cars without directly recreating any single model. Familiar elements such as the central shield grille, round lighting and flowing surfaces are reinterpreted in a cleaner, more contemporary form.

Design Development

Initial Direction

The project began with the idea of creating a modern Alfa Romeo flagship, positioned above the brand’s existing saloon range and focused more heavily on luxury, presence and grand touring. Early development concentrated on establishing the overall proportions and ensuring the design felt recognisably Italian before introducing specific Alfa Romeo cues.

Front Identity

The front end became one of the key areas of the project. A large central Alfa Romeo shield forms the visual centre of the car, while four individual circular lamps create a more distinctive lighting signature and reference historic Alfa designs without appearing overtly retro. The surrounding bodywork was deliberately kept simple to allow these elements to dominate.

Form and surfacing

Once the main identity was established, development shifted towards refining the vehicle’s side profile and rear proportions. The body uses smooth, controlled surfacing with strong rear shoulders and a gradually tapering cabin. Minimal character lines allow reflections and curvature to communicate the shape of the car instead of relying on excessive detailing.

Final Refinement

The final stage focused on balancing the exterior details, wheel design, lighting graphics and material choices. Large polished disc-style wheels introduce a stronger concept-car character, while the narrow rear lighting and restrained trim help maintain the clean overall form. The interior follows the same philosophy, combining a minimal architecture with a wide digital interface and a more traditional luxury material palette.

Final Direction / Outcome

The final Eléganza concept presents a possible interpretation of a future Alfa Romeo flagship: a large, elegant grand tourer centred around strong proportions, simple surfacing and a small number of recognisable brand elements. The project intentionally avoids aggressive aerodynamic styling and excessive visual complexity, instead focusing on creating a car with presence through proportion, material and form. The finished design is supported by a complete visual set including exterior hero imagery, detail studies, dynamic scenes and interior development.
